Slank’s Gosip Jalanan Lyrics and Al-Amin Nasution

Not long ago, House of Representative via Gayus Lumbuun planned a legal action to one of Indonesian rock bands, Slank. The House of Representatives had been planning legal action against Slank for the lyrics to its song “Gosip Jalanan” (Street Gossip), which implied that Indonesian legislators are venal.

Suddenly they dropped the legal action, after consulting with DPR Chief, Agung Laksono. They dropped this legal action because they will let Indonesian people to judge whether Gosip Jalan lyrics is fact or just a gossip.

And yesterday, we heard one of member of House of Representatives, named Al-Amin Nasution (husband of famous dangdut singer Kristina) caught red-handed by Indonesia’s Anti Corruption Commission (KPK) in Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta.

Now, all Indonesian people know that Gosip Jalanan not just a gossip anymore but it’s strong and undeniable fact! Anyway, if you come here to find Lirik Lagu Slank Gosip Jalanan, here we goes:

Pernah kah lo denger mafia judi
Katanya banyak uang suap polisi
Tentara jadi pengawal pribadi

Apa lo tau mafia narkoba
Keluar masuk jadi bandar di penjara
Terhukum mati tapi bisa ditunda

Siapa yang tau mafia selangkangan
Tempatnya lendir-lendir berceceran
Uang jutaan bisa dapat perawan
Kacau balau … Kacau balau negaraku ini …

Ada yang tau mafia peradilan
Tangan kanan hukum di kiri pidana
Dikasih uang habis perkara

Apa bener ada mafia pemilu
Entah gaptek apa manipulasi data
Ujungnya beli suara rakyat

Mau tau gak mafia di senayan
Kerjanya tukang buat peraturan
Bikin UUD ujung-ujungnya duit

Pernahkah gak denger teriakan Allahu Akbar
Pake peci tapi kelakuan barbar
Ngerusakin bar orang ditampar-tampar

Slank is simply portraying what is actual and happening in Indonesia. I personally believe It’s what they should and must do. I guess I can say I’m all for it.
And, now, all of the sudden, the house of representative throws a legal action against them; uh, “BULLS EYE”, Slank just hit right on the target. Good job.
