Blogging the Qur’an by Robert Spencer
After 9/11 incident, many peoples especially in Europe and America curious about Islam as a religion. Some of them buying Qur’an which already translated into American English and try to learn more about Islam. Yesterday, I found a good blogs which the topics still related to Islam. The blog’s name is “Blogging the Quran”. The author of this blog is Robert Spencer, the same name who make “The Truth about Muhammad” books (If I’m not mistaken, this book already translated into Indonesian language).
From the number of comments responds, I can said that this blog was one of favorite blog on internet. The discussion itself started at May 27, 2007 and now already reach Sura 20 “Ta Ha”, there still 124 Sura more to go (Qur’an has 144 Sura in totals).
From all I know, this blog “only” discuss about “the meaning” of Qur’an or translation version from Arabic to American language. Moreover, if you want to learn Qur’an, you had to learn “Tafsir”, this is different with “Meaning”. Tafsir involved terms “Asbabun Nuzul” or 5W1H (Who, What, Why, When, Where and How) perspective of each Verses.
But, I thought regardless how far the discussion will go, this discussion can be categorized as positives step and should be fully supported. I hope this blogs can be a media for all people in this world to know and understand more about Islam.
Anyway, this blogs has a copy of Fitna Film on their site, do Indonesian government want to banned this blogs too??? I hope not!
