Install Opera 9.51 in Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron
After several months using only Firefox as my default browser, today I decided to install Opera in my PC. The version I download was 9.51 which currently the latest version from Opera. The installation process quite easy, what you have to do is download the file and double click on it, gives the root permission and soon you’ll enjoy browsing Opera on your Linux box.
Actually, if I had to choose which one is better, FF or Opera? Until I write this post, I still love Firefox very much, because Firefox has a lot of add ons which is helped me much doing my daily task, such as the tools I use to write this post is Scribefire which is already embedded in my FF long times ago. Opera looks ugly with the default font (I don’t know with Opera for Micr Windows).
For me, the main purpose of installing Opera is just as a backup, just in case my FF suddenly hang or goes something wrong, I still have another browser as an alternatives. What about you? How do you feel about Opera for Linux? Have another opinions? Share it here in my comments…. Here is the screenshot opera 9.51 running on Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04

This addons developed by millions people in the world, thats why firefox has a huge acceptance on internet user beside of the security factors they provide of course. I use firefox since they still in 0.x version, now the latest version was 2.0.x and may be in several month ahead we will see brand new firefox 3.0. If you internet junkies, I highly suggest using firefox as your browser. Try them and you won’t back to your “out-of-date” browser.
