After upgrading to Intrepid Ibex, there are several problem encountered, such Skype and shutdown process, but all of that problem now has been fixed. The last problem that still annoying to me right now is my firefox running very slow compared to Firefox on Hardy Heron. I don’t know what’s exactly the why this is happen. Some said on forums that firefox slow because it’s Flash player.

After searching for the way out and waiting the update process solve this problem, now I realize that the problem is not the Intrepid Ibex but the problem is my hardware. I have “under requirement” hardware to run Intrepid Ibex. Today, I decide to downgrade to Hardy Heron again. Oh, by the way, this is my hardware specs:

• Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4400+
• RAM: 1 GB
• VGA: Onboard Geforce 6100
• Harddisk: 160 GB

Anyway, if you have the same problem with me and already find the solution for this, please let me know, I’m happy to upgrade to Intrepid Ibex again Thank you.

Some Joomla content editor using body CSS as their default background, this is quite annoying moreover if you have dark background, almost impossible to write in TinyMCE. How is the quick solution? Here is the simple tips:

Step 1: Add this code in your template_css.css

body.mceContentBody {
background-color: #FFFFFF !important;
}

Step 2: Go to Mambots > Site Mambots > TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor. Change Template CSS classes to “No” and give Custom CSS Classes value “body.mce”. Save it and try to write your your content now, if you doing it right, you should see no image background anymore.

Continuing build my Rattan Shop site, this morning I have some problems. I can not insert image to my static content, the box is empty (blank). Then I’m try to googling for a while and this is what I’ve got:

The problem is in configuration.php file (in my root installation directory), and the solution is so simple:

Edit my configuration.php file. Look at this line:
$mosConfig_live_site = ‘http://your_joomla_site.com’;

I change to:
$mosConfig_live_site = ‘http://www.your_joomla_site.com’;

It’s done! If you have same problem, just look in to your browser URL and your $mosConfig_live_site , make sure they have same path.

Previously, I’m using Compex WP11B+ as my access point, but yesterday I got another access point from Netgear, WGR614 v7 series which surely has weaker performance compared than my Compex, but anyway, it’s still worth to try though.

What I want to do actually is testing whether this wireless router works well on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron since there is no explanation about Linux support in the box. Ok, here we go the step by step guidance:

Step 1: First, download Netgear WGR614 owners manual here. Just in case you lost your manual or don’t have one.

Step 2: Connect your Netgear WGR614 with your DSL modem and your PC as in the picture below.

Step 3: Type this URL in your browser (I’m using Firefox) => http://www.routerlogin.net Enter username: admin ; password: password

Step 4: Once succeeded, you’ll be prompted Basic Setting Menu, complete the process and click “apply”, don’t forget to test it, if succeeded you will redirected to Netgear homepage.

Pretty simple isn’t it? Even Ubuntu 8.04 doesn’t need any drivers to make this Netgear WGR614 worked. If you want to, you can drop your question in the comments form below.

Note: For the first question, “Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login?” I answer “No”, since the login process already taken by my ADSL modem.
