After almost 4 years in this business, I decide to expand my website portfolio into much much larger and wider topics. Although still in the same games, but I thought it still better than relying only on 1 or 2 website only. The latest project already created are forex-related websites which is Real Time Forex Quotes, FX Platforms, Free Forex Demo Account and Forex Trading Secret. All of them built using wordpress CMS. The next step is building a useful content for the readers for each sites, and start building high quality links to them. I hope in the end of this month I can finished 6 more forex related sites.

As an affiliate newbie, I have to learn much much more about how to make money from affiliate. After learning some basic concepts and technique, nowadays I already succeeded generating income from my affiliate sites. Here is a screenshot from my Amazon affiliate account (July 2008):

I don’t have an intension to show off, just sharing… I hope this screenshot will motivate you to working harder in order to get higher commission from your affiliate partner. Keep focus!

After succeed with airsoft online store and baby toys store, today I build another affiliate websites, rattan online shop, which has the same basic concept with previous one. Basically, this is an “auto” websites, grabbing thousands Amazon products in just a click away. I use Joomla as CMS, and several script to complete my sites.

The hardest things for affiliate sites is not build the web, but how we compete with others in the same field. One of well known technique is by building one-way link, like what I’m doing now. Anyway, I’m open for all of you who might have some critics or comments regarding my sites, just drop you comment here, and I’ll grateful for that.

Still related with my previous post which is about forex quotes and charts. In this short article I will share with you about installing Metatrader 4 in Linux Ubuntu. Luckily, without any further tricks, I can install MT4 easily in my Ubuntu box. Let’s start!

• O/S: Ubuntu Linux 7.04 a.k.a Feisty Fawn
• Wine Version: 0.9.33
• Metatrader 4: Get here

Tutorial Details:

• First, from a valid windows installation, copy over all the fonts into your wine installation. If you prefer using command line, here we goes the command:

$cp /windows/Fonts/* /home/yourhostname/.wine/c/windows/fonts/

• Copy 2 needed DLL files from your valid windows installation. The DLL files begin with mfc4* . So using command line:

$cp /windows/system32/mfc4* /home/yourhostname/.wine/c/windows/system32/

• Install MT4.

$wine mt4setup.exe

Note:

1. Except installing wine, all of this steps using regular user privilege.
2. Change “yourhostname” in the command line with your current user name.
